The second week of the Donald Trump criminal trial testimony began with a bang!

First up, a ruling on the gag order. Trump was found in criminal contempt and fined $1k for each of the 9 violations. He was also ordered to remove the offending 9 posts by 2:15pm (which he complied with) AND warned that he will be incarcerated (maybe) for future violations.

Reminder: there is a 2nd gag order violation hearing scheduled for this Thursday morning.

Punishing women is the Republican way, so it's not too surprising that former President Donald Trump, who was found liable for sexual abuse, said in 2016 that women should be punished if they get an abortion procedure. He hasn't changed much, only his tone on abortion until he gets into office -- a thing we hope will never happen. Trump is very proud of overturning Roe and spends quite a bit of time bragging about it.

In a lengthy interview with Time, the former President doubled down.

"He would let red states monitor women's pregnancies and prosecute those who violate abortion bans," the outlet reports. "He would, at his personal discretion, withhold funds appropriated by Congress, according to top advisers. He would be willing to fire a U.S. Attorney who doesn't carry out his order to prosecute someone, breaking with a tradition of independent law enforcement that dates from America's founding."

Fox finally got around to reporting on puppy-killer Kristi Noem, and but not without this ridiculous whataboutism from The Five's Greg Gutfeld and Jesse Watters. It was radio silence over on Fox for at least three days after the story about Noem exploded, and I guess they decided they couldn't ignore it any longer, so they finally ran a few segments like the one above discussing the dog shooting incident in Noem's memoir.

Gutfeld started things off explaining the gruesome tale and asked Dana Perino to weigh in. Perino had no defense for what Noem did and commented that maybe she should have hired some better editors for her book if this incident didn't raise a red flag for them. Gutfeld had another theory, which was followed by Judge Box-O-Wine going on the attack against Noem.

GUTFELD: I think there's a story behind the story. The story about killing the puppy was already out there, and so she wanted a vice signal ahead of time to try to control it, because she knew it could ruin her chances.

Democratic strategist Donna Brazile responded calmly to an animated Sarah Isgur, a former Trump administration official, after she accused liberals of not caring about free speech.

The confrontation came during a Sunday panel on ABC's This Week program. Isgur criticized President Joe Biden, who has said he decided to run in reaction to a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017.

"Look, I am upset!" Isgur began. "I'm horrified that Joe Biden, who said he ran because of the Unite the Right rally, won't say the same things about what's going on now that he did then."

"Because what we're seeing is the right and the left, a large minority of both of those political movements, rejecting liberal values like free speech, like persuasion," the panelist continued.

After several minutes of ranting against pro-Palestinian protesters, Isgur concluded with a challenge to Brazile: "And where are the people on the political left saying the same things that us on the political right were saying about the Unite the Right rally, about the anti-liberal values on the right?"

"Where are they now, Donna?" she demanded.

"On campus, trying to lead the dialog," Brazile responded calmly.

"A dialog!" Isgur exclaimed. "Can you imagine dialoguing with the Unite the Right rally, folks?"

"Let me just tell you something," Brazile pressed on. "I'm on those campuses every week. "I'll be on another one tomorrow. And it is important that we engage in civil dialogue."

The New York judge presiding over former U.S. President Donald Trump's trial for allegedly falsifying business records on Tuesday held the presumptive 2024 GOP nominee in criminal contempt for repeatedly violating a gag order, fined him $9,000, and threatened to jail him if he does it again.

Judge Juan Merchan ordered Trump to pay $1,000 for each violation of the gag order and directed him to remove eight offending social media posts.

"Defendant violated the order by making social media posts about known witnesses pertaining to their participation in this criminal proceeding and by making public statements about jurors in this criminal proceeding," Merchan wrote in his 8-page decision.

Trump is "hereby warned that the court will not tolerate continued willfull violations of its lawful orders and that if necessary and appropriate under the circumstances, it will impose an incarceratory punishment," the judge added.

Donald Trump spoke to the media before his court trial by claiming he never defended Neo-Nazis at his infamous "good people on both sides" presser.

The Neo Nazi rally in Charlottesville in 2017 left Heather Heyer dead. Trump said there were good people on both sides.

[Biden] said he ran because of Charlottesville. Well, if the people that know Charlottesville, when you extend the statement, it's a big hoax what they say was said. And they understand that. And Charlottesville is peanuts compared to what you're looking at now.

One has to be a sociopath of the highest order to lie like that. A few minutes later, Traitor Trump whined about the freezing courtroom.

So I'm going to go into this trial. I'm going to sit in a freezing cold ice box for Eight hours, nine hours or so, they took me off the case.

Here's a hint ole' diminished one, you can dress accordingly if you are cold.

Fox News and Trump sycophant Newt Gingrich were upset that President Obama defended the New York Times and MSNBC for not making up conspiracy theories like Fox News and most other right-wing news outlets.

Recent campus protests over Gaza have been used by Fox and other right-wing outlets to distract from Trump being on trial for election interference via porn star hush money.

Gingrich plays right into the Fox script, as he is paid to do. There MUST be "indoctrination on campuses" since students are protesting for Palestinians.

The natural culmination of left-wing ideological brainwashing on our campuses, so, you know, I think for Obama, none of that exists because he, you know, he lives in a nice little isolated world surrounded by people who say, 'yes, you really are brilliant, Mr. President.'

And he believes them.

Newt Gingrich claims to know what Obama thinks and feels better than he does. The hatred just pours out from his cracked porcelain pores.

Fox News is a bubble all on its own,n and Trump soaks up the worship he receives from all right-wing media. if anyone lives in a bubble, it's the Christian nationalistic MAGA cult.

Newt has to serve Trump because Donald gave Newt's wife-slash-six-year mistress her dream job of Ambassador to the Vatican. Talk about blasphemy!

It sure looks like House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is running out of excuses as to why his impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden has stalled. This time, Comer wants you to believe that it's because more evidence comes in daily. It's been 15 months, and they haven't found evidence against the President, but sure, Comer, go with that. Comer told that to a mentally exhausted-looking Newsmax host, Eric Bolling, about this mountain of evidence that he has not revealed because there is just so much of it!

"Here's a $64,000 question, Chairman," Bolling said. "When do we hold them accountable for perjury or evading taxes?"

"A lot. A lot. Evading taxes, many financial crimes," Comer insisted. "The reason that this has taken so long, in addition to the obstruction for the White House, is there's more evidence that comes in every day."

It must be so embarrassing to be Comer. He has failed to come up with any sort of evidence to present against the President. Even Eric Bolling looked like he wanted to slap him.

As one Xitter user joked, “I didn’t pay my bills because I have too much money!”

And another X user wrote, "I can’t breathe cause there’s too much oxygen in the air."

Over the weekend we brought you the sad spectacle of upstate New York district attorney Sandara Doorley who tried to browbeat a police officer out of giving her a speeding ticket. Apparently unbeknownst to Doorley though they have these things called bodycams now and every word that came out of her mouth was an ad for why she should never be a district attorney or have any sort of career in law enforcement (despite her previous thirty years in law enforcement). Her 26-minute bodycam footage was a confession of why she is unfit for public office. If Sandra Doorley had an ounce of integrity she'd resign, but she won't. These types of individuals never do.

A New York district attorney has issued a formal apology after she was captured on bodycam berating a cop over a speeding ticket.

Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley released a video statement on Monday in response to viral footage that saw her arguing with a Webster cop and calling him an 'a**h****.'

'Last Monday, I failed you and the standards that I hold myself to and for that, I am so sorry. What I did was wrong - no excuses, I take full responsibility for my actions,' Doorley said.

Leaders of the First Unitarian Church of Dallas opened a new pregnancy resource center that will provide comprehensive reproductive health information, unlike fake crisis pregnancy centers. Via Dallas Morning News:

The Truth Pregnancy Resource Center is a direct reaction to Texas’ strict abortion bans that made the procedure illegal in all cases but those that threaten the life of the mother. Abortion clinics around the state shuttered, limiting access to women’s health care providers in regions already known to be maternal care deserts.

Doors down from the now-closed Southwestern Women’s Surgery Center, which offered abortions, the new pregnancy center will provide counseling, sonograms, and information about all possible outcomes of pregnancy, from adoption to parenthood to traveling to have an abortion in neighboring states.

“This is a little bit of redemption for [former Southwestern Women’s staff]” said Rev. Daniel Kanter, CEO and senior minister at First Unitarian. “And none of this is really about me at all. It’s about the opportunity to do good in the world, to have a church say that this issue around reproductive dignity matters.”

I'm always stunned when people believe private messages are, you know, actually private. Now Chesebro is caught lying to prosecutors about how many social media accounts he had. Really stupid, Ken! There goes your plea deal! Via CNN.com:

Google and X, formerly Twitter, recently provided hundreds of files to Michigan prosecutors for their 2020 election subversion probe, complying with search warrants that investigators obtained after CNN revealed secret social media accounts belonging to pro-Trump lawyer Kenneth Chesebro, who played a major role in the fake electors plot.

The previously unreported warrants gave prosecutors access to new Chesebro emails and his private direct messages on Twitter. The warrants make clear that Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is still gathering new information in her probe, nine months after she charged the state’s fake electors with forgery and other crimes for signing certificates falsely claiming Donald Trump won the state in 2020.

A top member of her team testified last week that the investigation is ongoing and that Trump is an unindicted co-conspirator in the case, which is not expected to go to trial before the November election.
